Description

Women suffer chronic pain more frequently than men. It is not clear whether this is due to differences in higher level cognitive processes or basic nociceptive responses. This study used a mouse model to dissociate these factors and found no differences in peripheral afferent neurons or in the spinal cord immune response to neuropathic injury. However, it did identify potential sexual dimorphisms in peripheral adaptive immune responses. Overall design: RNA-seq of naïve FACS-purified DRG neurons and MACS-purified DRG neurons after partial sciatic nerve ligation (day 8): comparison of male versus female samples

Description

PreB cells were analyzed for differences in gene expression before and after the overexpression of miR-221. In order to dissect possible targets for the miR-221, gene expression profiles of preB cells un-induced or induced for the miR-221 expression after 8, 16 and 24 hours were compared. All induction time-points, e.g. after 8, 16 and 24 hours were compared to un-induced preB cells and to each other group.

We purified by magnet assisted cell sorting microglial cells from brains of adult Rab7 null mutant, aged mice and respective controls, isolated total RNA and performed RNAseq to determine the transciptome profiles. Overall design: Examination of transcriptomes of Rab7 null mutants and control (2 replicates each) and aged mice and young controls (3 replicates each)
