Genes in apoptosis induced by anisomycin in human leukemia U937 cells
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 4 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133A Array (hgu133a)

Description

Anisomycin is known as a potent apoptosis inducer by activating JNK/SAPK and inhibiting protein synthesis during translation. However, only few details are known on the mechanism of apoptosis induced by this compound. Genes in apoptosis induced by anisomycin in human leukemia U937 cells were investigated by using an Affymetrix GeneChip system. DNA fragmentation and phosphatidylserine externalization assays clearly demonstrated that anisomycin induced apoptosis in a time- and concentration- dependent manner. Of 22,283 probe sets analyzed, this compound down-regulated 524 probe sets and up-regulated 523 by a factor 1.5 or greater.

Publication Title

Molecular mechanism of apoptosis and gene expressions in human lymphoma U937 cells treated with anisomycin.

Expression profile of splenocytes with glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI) induced arthritis
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 2 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430A 2.0 Array (mouse430a2)

Description

To explore TNF-related genes in GPI-induced arthritis, we performed GeneChip analysis using arthritic splenocytes and control-immunized splenocytes. Among the arrayed TNFalpha-related genes, TIARP mRNA was highly expressed in arthritic splenocytes, with levels exceeding more than 20-times the control splenocytes

  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 2 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Clariom S Array (clariomsmouse)

Description

The QTL for fatty liver was mapped on mouse chromosome 12, designated as Fl1sa. Iah1 gene is a candidate gene for Fl1sa . In mammal, Iah1 function has been largely unknown.

Publication Title

Ablation of Iah1, a candidate gene for diet-induced fatty liver, does not affect liver lipid accumulation in mice.

Identification of novel markers of the mesothelial lineage and mesothelioma
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 24 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina Mouse Ref-6 V1

Description

Microarray expression arrays on mesothelium and other tissues dissected from mice were used to identify candidate mesothelial lineage markers. These were then tested by qRTPCR across a panel of human mesothelioma cells lines, other cancers, and normal primary cells includidng mesothelial cells.

Publication Title

LRRN4 and UPK3B are markers of primary mesothelial cells.

Expression data from human stem cell memory (TSCM) CD8+ T cells induced by Notch signaling
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 3 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 1.0 ST Array (hugene10st)

Description

Adoptive T-cell immunotherapy provides a promising approach to cancer therapy. Stem cell memory T (TSCM) cells have been proposed as a new class of memory T cells that possess longevity and a high proliferative potential. It has been shown that CD8+ TSCM cells can be generated in vitro from nave CD8+ T cells via Wnt signaling; however, the methods for inducing TSCM cells from activated or memory T cells remain to be developed.

Publication Title

Notch-mediated conversion of activated T cells into stem cell memory-like T cells for adoptive immunotherapy.

Molecular Characterization of a Partial Masculinization in Embryonic Ovaries Grafted into Male Nude Mice
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 9 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 Array (mouse4302)

Description

The fetal ovarian grafts under the kidney capsule of adult male mice undergo a partial sex-reversal showing ectopic SOX9-positive Sertoli cell-like cells around 15-20 days post-transplantation. However, the molecular bases of such masculinization of fetal ovaries in the paternal environment were unclear.

Molecular and genetic characterization of partial masculinization in embryonic ovaries grafted into male nude mice.

Regulatory Role for PC-TP/StarD2 in the Metabolic Response to Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor Alpha (PPAR)
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430A 2.0 Array (mouse430a2)

Description

Phosphatidylcholine transfer protein (PC-TP, a.k.a StarD2) is abundantly expressed in liver and is regulated by PPAR. When fed the synthetic PPAR ligand fenofibrate, Pctp-/- mice exhibited altered lipid and glucose homeostasis. Microarray profiling of liver from fenofibrate fed wild type and Pctp-/- mice revealed differential expression of a broad array of metabolic genes, as well as their regulatory transcription factors. Because its expression controlled the transcriptional activities of both PPAR and HNF4 in cell culture, the broader impact of PC-TP on nutrient metabolism is most likely secondary to its role in fatty acid metabolism.

Publication Title

Regulatory role for phosphatidylcholine transfer protein/StarD2 in the metabolic response to peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha (PPARalpha).
