Microarray analysis of a Drosophila dopamine transporter mutant, fumin (fmn)
  • organism-icon Drosophila melanogaster
  • sample-icon 13 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Drosophila Genome 2.0 Array (drosophila2)

Description

We previously found a short sleeper mutant, fmn, and identified its mutation in the dopamine transporter gene. In an attempt to discover additional sleep related genes in Drosophila, we carried out a microarray analysis comparing mRNA expression in heads of fmn and control flies and found differentially expressed genes.

Publication Title

RNA-seq analysis of hair follicle stem cell transcriptome upon loss of the transcription factor FOXC1
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina HiSeq 2000

Description

We report downstream gene expression changes in stem cells of the adult mouse hair follicle upon conditional ablating of the transcription factor Forkhead Box C1 transcription factor (FOXC1). Hair follicles undergo cycles of rest (telogen; Tel) and regeneration (anagen; Ana). As such, we performed our analysis on these two different stages of hair follicles. Overall design: mRNA-sequencing of WT vs. Foxc1-conditional or inducible KO (Foxc1-cKO or iKO) hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) purified from mouse dorsal back skin by flow-activated cell sorting (FACS).

Publication Title

FOXC1 maintains the hair follicle stem cell niche and governs stem cell quiescence to preserve long-term tissue-regenerating potential.

Comparative analysis of transcriptome profiles of G. hirsutum L. cv. MCU5 and its fuzzless-lintless mutant during fiber development stages.
  • organism-icon Gossypium hirsutum
  • sample-icon 30 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Cotton Genome Array (cotton)

Description

Cotton is one of the most commercially important Fiber crops in the world and used as a source for natural textile Fiber and cottonseed oil. The fuzzless-lintless ovules of cotton mutants are ideal source for identifying genes involved in Fiber development by comparing with Fiber bearing ovules of wild-type. To decipher molecular mechanisms involved in Fiber cell development, transcriptome analysis has been carried out by comparing G. hirsutum cv. MCU5 (wild-type) with its fuzzless-lintless mutant (MUT). Cotton bolls were collected at Fiber initiation (0 dpa/days post anthesis), elongation (5, 10 and 15 dpa) and secondary cell wall synthesis stage (20 dpa) and gene expression profiles were analyzed in wild-type and MUT using Affymetrix cotton GeneChip Genome array.

Publication Title

Functional genomics of fuzzless-lintless mutant of Gossypium hirsutum L. cv. MCU5 reveal key genes and pathways involved in cotton fibre initiation and elongation.
