Expression profiles in testis of mouse inter-subspecific hybrids
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 23 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Gene 1.0 ST Array (mogene10st)

Description

According to Dobzhansky-Muller model, hybrid sterility is a consequence of independent evolution of related taxa resulting in incompatible interaction during gametogenesis of their hybrids. We proposed that asynapsis of heterospecific chromosomes in meiotic prophase provides a general and recurrently evolving trigger for the meiotic arrest of interspecific F1 hybrids. We used genome-wide expression profiling to quantify misexpression of Chr X and Chr Y genes.

Expression profiling of isolated populations of prepachytene spermatocytes, pachytene spermatocytes and spermatids of PWD and B6 males
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 Array (mouse4302)

Description

Expression profiling of isolated populations of prepachytene spermatocytes (LP), pachytene spermatocytes (RP) and spermatids (ST) from PWD and B6 was performed to study the genome wide variation in gene expression between two mouse subspecies. To evaluate the transcriptional difference between B6 and PWD in during meiosis, we compared their transcriptomes in sorted populations of pre-pachytene primary spermatocytes (Leptonema, Zygotene and Pachytene), pachytene spermatocytes (Mid-late pachytene and diplotene) and spermatids.

MRI-localized biopsies reveal subtype-specific differences in molecular and cellular composition at the margins of glioblastoma
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 94 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIlluminaHiSeq2000

Description

We obtained radiographically-localized biopsies during glioma resection surgeries to sample the tumor core and margins from multiple glioma patients. We also procured fresh, non-neoplastic brain tissue specimens from multiple patients having procedures to relieve epilespy symptoms or to place shunts to treat normal pressure hydrocephalus. We then used RNA-Seq to compare expression patterns between geographically distinct regions of gliomas and computational deconvolution to estimate cell type-specific expression patterns in different disease subtypes. Overall design: RNA-Seq analysis in 39 contrast-enhancing glioma core samples, 36 non-enhancing FLAIR glioma margin samples, and 17 non-neoplastic brain tissue samples.
