Placental contributions to hypothalamic development
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 46 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconNextSeq 500

Description

The goal of this study was to determine the role of the X-linked epigenetic mediator, O-linked N-acetylglucosamine transferase (OGT) in establishment of trophoblast-specific sex differences in gene expression and to determine if sex differences in OGT and downstream epigenetic modifications contribute to sex differences in hypothalamic gene expression and development.

Wistar Kyoto rat stellate ganglia transcriptome
  • organism-icon Rattus norvegicus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina HiSeq 2500

Description

Sympathetic hyperactivity can result from cell-autonomous changes in neurons that innervate cardiovascular target tissues. Stellate ganglia are of particular interest because the majority of sympathetic neurons innervating the heart reside there. The cardiovascular risk profiles in men and women are different. Transcriptomics provides a powerful tool for identifying genomic changes that contribute to sympathetic dysfunction in disease. Here we compared the transcriptomes of healthy stellate ganglia from adult male and female WKY rats.

Expression data from aldosterone-producing adenomas (APAs) with a somatic mutation in either KCNJ5, CACNA1D, or ATP1A1
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 13 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 1.0 ST Array (hugene10st)

Description

Analysis of aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) samples from patients with primary hyperaldosteronism. These APAs have a somatic mutation in either KCNJ5, CACNA1D, or ATP1A1. Results provide insight into the different mechanisms each mutation may cause leading to elevated aldosterone production in APA.

Publication Title

Somatic mutations in ATP1A1 and CACNA1D underlie a common subtype of adrenal hypertension.

Expression data from 9 and 13 weeks old TIFIAD1Cre mice
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430A 2.0 Array (mouse430a2)

Description

We have investigated the p53-dependent stress response in medium spiny neurons (MSNs) that degenerate in Huntingtons disease. To induce p53 signaling cascade, we have genetically inactivated by the Cre/loxP system the essential RNA polymerase I (Pol I) transcription factor TIF-IA, leading to stabilization of p53 and induction of p53-dependent apoptosis.

Differential gene expression in placentae (E10.5) from adra2bKO and adra2bWT mice
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 Array (mouse4302)

Description

alpha2-adrenoceptors are essential presynaptic regulators of norepinephrine release from sympathetic nerves. Previous studies in mice with targeted deletions in the three alpha2-adrenoceptor genes have indicated that these receptors are essential for embryonic development. In the present study, we searched for the alpha2-adrenoceptor subtype(s) involved in placental development and its molecular mechanism using mice carrying targeted deletions in alpha2-adrenoceptor genes.

Publication Title

Upregulation of soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 contributes to angiogenesis defects in the placenta of alpha 2B-adrenoceptor deficient mice.
