Description

Flavonols are a class of flavonoids. Unlike other classes of flavonoids, flavonols strongly accumulate in guard cells, but the role of their accumulation in guard cells is still unclear so far.The overexpression of TaFLS1, a flavonol synthase gene from wheat, improves flavonol content in guard cells of Arabidopsis, while the mutant fls1-3 of Arabidopsis AtFLS1 reduces the content. Both the increase of flavonols by TaFLS1 overexpression and the decrease in fls1-3 change stomatal apeture, showing the association between flavonols and stomatal movements.

Angiotensin IV attenuates diabetic cardiomyopathy via suppressing FoxO1-induced excessive autophagy, apoptosis and fibrosis
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Clariom S Array (clariomsmouse)

Description

It is well known that rennin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) plays a critical role in the development of diabetic cardiomyopathy. The present study was aimed to clarify the role of a novel member of RAAS, angiotensin IV (Ang IV) and its downstream mediator forkhead box protein O1 (FoxO1), in the pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy. In vivo, diabetic mice were treated with low-, medium- and high-dose Ang IV, AT4R antagonist divalinal, FoxO1 inhibitor AS1842856 (AS), or their combinations. In vitro, cardiomyocytes and cardiofibroblasts were treated with different concentrations of glucose, low-, medium- and high-dose Ang IV, divalinal, FoxO1-overexpression plasmid (FoxO1-OE), AS or their combinations.

Angiotensin IV mitigates diabetic cardiomyopathy via downregulating FoxO1-mediated autophagy
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Clariom S Array (clariomsmouse)

Description

Activation of the systemic and myocardial rennin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) by hyperglycemia plays a critical role in the development of diabetic cardiomyopathy. To test the hypothesis that AngIV protects against diabetic cardiomyopathy via stimulation of AT4R and inhibition of overactive autophagy, diabetic mice were treated with low-, medium- and high-dose AngIV, AT4R antagonist divalinal, forkhead box protein O1 (FoxO1) inhibitor AS1842856 (AS) or their combinations. In vitro, cardiomyocytes were treated with different concentrations of glucose, low-, medium- and high-dose AngIV, divalinal, FoxO1-overexpression plasmid (FoxO1-OE), AS or their combinations.

Transcriptome-wide characterization of gene expression associated with unruptured intracranial aneurysms
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

The biological mechanisms by which cerebral aneurysms emerge, enlarge and rupture are not totally understood. In the present study, we analyzed the genome-wide gene expression profile in human intracranial aneurysms using cDNA microarrays.

Expression data from the chronic myeloid leukemia cell line K562 with or without AF1q/MLLT11 overexpressing
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 1.0 ST Array (hugene10st)

Description

AF1q/MLLT11 expression was significantly upregulated in CML patients and elevated AF1q expression was associated with disease progression. Enforced AF1q expression promoted cell survival, protected CML cells from IM treatment and increased engraftment of CML cells in vivo.

Expression data from salinity treated and control soybean
  • organism-icon Glycine max
  • sample-icon 2 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Soybean Genome Array (soybean)

Description

Soybean's productivity is significantly compromised by soil salinity, but, like most plants, it has evolved a variety of mechanisms to aid its survival under environmental stress. The expression of many plant genes is altered by salinity stress.

Expression data from maize endosperm
  • organism-icon Zea mays
  • sample-icon 9 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Maize Genome Array (maize)

Description

Despite much knowledge is well-known on the transcriptional and enzymological regulation of many genes in starch synthesis, including SBEb, Waxy, and SUS-SH1 genes, less information is available on their expression profiles as a consequence of their dysfunction. Hence, transcriptional adjustments in response to mutations were required for a better understanding of starch biosynthesis pathway, others metabolism and cell response.
